What is Bullet Journaling?
Before we talk about some of my favorite bullet journaling supplies, let’s discuss what bullet journaling is.
Bullet journaling is a system of personal organization that can help you keep track of the things you want to do and the things you’ve accomplished.
The bullet journal method uses “bullets,” text, and symbols such as arrows, boxes, check boxes, and dashes in a grid pattern to visually represent your schedule. This method also allows you to capture random thoughts or ideas as they come up throughout the day.
Bullet journals are not just for planning things out; it’s also a great way to keep track of your health goals and progress on these goals. By writing down what we eat each day or how many steps we take each day, we can identify areas where we need improvement.

Suppose you have been thinking about journaling for a long time and are ready to start. Congratulations! You’re about to embark on a journey of self-discovery and personal growth.
Bullet journals are used for many things:
- Planning your day
- Planning your life
- And even planning your future!
This guide will walk you through the bullet journal supplies needed for journaling and how to get started.
Journaling is a way to get your thoughts and emotions out of your head.
- Keep your journal with you, ideally in an easy-to-access pocket or bag. This way, whenever an idea comes to mind or an emotion hits, you can quickly jot it down before it’s forgotten!
- Experiment with different types of paper—different weights may make writing more accessible (thicker paper will be more comfortable on your hand).
Journaling supplies must-haves.

We have plenty of options for bullet journal planners and accessories. First, put all your Journaling supplies in a cute bullet journal pen case! Then, match your planner with colored pens, start note-taking with gel pens, or get washi tape to decorate with.
Bullet Journal Stamps & Stickers
Bullet Journal Stamps are also a great way to organize your bullet journal. They can be used as an index or to mark specific sections of your journal to track how much space you have left over for new entries. The best part about using stamps is that they’re easy to find and cheap! Use journal stickers to help remind you of important events or to help you stay motivated.
Washi Tape
Washi tape is a great way to get the most out of your bullet journal. You can use it to mark pages or add flair by decorating them. Washi tape can also make DIY agendas! Wrap them around your planner’s rings, and you’re ready to go!
