<p>There are a lot of things that you might be holding onto that could do with some refreshing. First, re-evaluate your things and throw away anything that hasn&#8217;t been used in 6 months or more.</p>



<p>&nbsp;If it&#8217;s broken, fix it or replace it with something new (you&#8217;ll find various guides online for repairing everything from microwaves to computers).&nbsp;</p>



<p>If it&#8217;s still good but not what you want, donate the item to charity or give it away to someone who could use it more than you can—it&#8217;s better than letting it sit in your basement forever!</p>



<p>Finally, update the rest of your belongings by buying new clothes and shoes if necessary. Some other ideas might be:</p>



<ul>
<li>&nbsp;Buying a car or bike if yours is old and unreliable.</li>



<li>&nbsp;Buying a phone or laptop if they don&#8217;t suit your needs anymore.</li>



<li>&nbsp;Replacing lamps/curtains/other items around your house if they&#8217;re outdated or in bad condition.</li>



<li>&nbsp;Upgrading furniture if any pieces no longer work for your needs (for example, swapping. out an old mattress for one with better support).</li>
</ul>



<h3 class="wp-block-heading">#3. Start a side hustle.</h3>



<p>If you&#8217;re looking to make some extra money, then starting a side hustle is the way to do it.</p>



<p>A side hustle is an additional job or activity that generates income outside your regular work. Some people enjoy having something else on top of their 9–5 workday routine.</p>



<p>Whether you want to earn more money or just have something fun and different for yourself, starting a side hustle can be great for building self-confidence and motivation and helping build up savings or retirement funds.</p>



<h3 class="wp-block-heading">#4. Examine your finances.</h3>



<ul>
<li>Look at your bank statements. Many people think they know what they&#8217;re spending their money on, but do you? If so, can you prove it?</li>



<li>Take a look at your credit card statements. Do you pay off your balances in full every month? Are there recurring charges that are eating up all of your available credit?</li>



<li>Review your budget and spending habits. If there is something in particular that you&#8217;d like to spend less on, now would be an excellent time to find out where precisely those savings could come from (or if it&#8217;s even possible).&nbsp;</li>
</ul>



<p>If nothing stands out as too expensive or unnecessary, consider evaluating whether any of these things make sense for someone in their 20s/30s—are they helpful or just keeping old habits alive because they&#8217;ve always been around?</p>



<h3 class="wp-block-heading">#5. Improve your personality.</h3>



<p>Develop an upbeat personality: You will be more confident, outgoing, and patient.</p>



<p>Practice forgiveness and become better at forgiving others: Be less judgmental of other people&#8217;s actions and mistakes, and forgive them for their failures or wrongdoings against you.</p>



<p>Improve your empathy skills: This can help you understand someone else&#8217;s perspective, making them feel more comfortable around you. It also helps to avoid arguments in the first place by preventing misunderstandings before they happen!</p>



<h3 class="wp-block-heading">#6. Drink More Water and Stay Hydrated.</h3>

<p>Staying hydrated is essential for your body and mind. If you&#8217;re dehydrated, you&#8217;ll feel tired and irritable, leading to a bad mood or anger issues. Drinking more water will keep your skin looking healthy and glowing! The perfect goal is to drink half of your body weight in ounces of water daily. Take breaks throughout the day to refill your cup.</p>



<h3 class="wp-block-heading">#7. Create a weekly or monthly budget.</h3>



<ul>
<li>You should always have a budget. Budgeting is one of the most important things you can do to manage your finances and ensure they&#8217;re working for you, not against you. Not only will it help you feel more secure about your future, but it will also help you feel less stressed about money overall.</li>



<li>Creating a weekly or monthly budget that includes your expenses and income streams is best. Once this is established, use software like Mint or Personal Capital to track those expenses over time so that if anything changes (like a new car payment), it&#8217;s easy for the app to alert you so that nothing falls through the cracks!</li>



<li>By keeping track of where every dollar goes each month—and sticking with that plan—you&#8217;ll be able to identify areas where some money could come back into play (or possibly even save up for big purchases down the road).</li>
</ul>



<h3 class="wp-block-heading">#8. Create a sleep routine.</h3>



<p>Sleep helps you feel happier, more productive, and more alert during the day. So if you want to make a habit out of self-improvement, a regular sleep schedule should be on your list too!</p>



<h3 class="wp-block-heading">#9. Plan a daily workout routine for yourself and stick to it.</h3>



<p>You can&#8217;t expect to get fit if you don&#8217;t put in the work. To help you reach your weight loss goal, set aside time for exercise and stick to it. It&#8217;s tempting to skip a workout when life gets busy or stressful, but if this is important to you, create a routine that works for your schedule and make sure not to skip any sessions throughout the month.</p>



<p>Your daily workout should include a warmup, strength training, cardio exercise (running/biking), core training, and stretching at least three times per week for about 30 minutes each session.</p>



<h3 class="wp-block-heading">#10. Become a volunteer and help those in need.</h3>



<p>Volunteering is a great way to help others and improve your mental health. In addition, volunteering can help you feel more fulfilled and connected to your community, even if you volunteer alone. Even doing random acts of kindness will not only makes someone&#8217;s day but will also increase your happiness.&nbsp;</p>



<h3 class="wp-block-heading">#11. Try to keep your credit card usage to a minimum to save on future debt.</h3>



<p>Keep your credit card usage to a minimum, especially if you must avoid paying off the monthly balance. Credit cards are beneficial but can also be dangerous—if you don&#8217;t pay off the balance every month, it will add up and affect your credit score. If you have any debt on your card (or anything else), clear it out soon as possible.&nbsp;</p>

<p>The phrase “mind over matter” is commonly used to refer to the idea that your mind can affect your health. What does it mean? This article will cover five key elements to improve your mental health and personal growth.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Stop comparing yourself to other people.</h2>



<ul><li>Constantly comparing yourself can leave you discouraged and negative about yourself.&nbsp; Don&#8217;t compare your progress to other people&#8217;s progress. You don&#8217;t know what they&#8217;re going through; chances are you&#8217;re already doing great in the area you&#8217;re working on!</li><li>Stop comparing your life to other people&#8217;s lives. Your journey is yours alone; no matter how hard you try, it will never be exactly like anyone else&#8217;s. Remember that there are plenty of ways for two people&#8217;s paths to cross and diverge simultaneously—and that even though their experiences may seem similar on paper, they may not feel anything alike in real life!</li><li>Don&#8217;t compare your body to other people&#8217;s bodies. Accept yourself. Everyone has different genetic predispositions and pasts that affect their bodies differently; these differences shouldn&#8217;t be seen as negative or positive but as unique opportunities for self-discovery and growth towards an overall healthy lifestyle!</li></ul>

<ul><li>Don’t let other people&#8217;s negative thoughts, words, and actions affect you, and the negativity of others drag your mood down. Instead, they are just dealing with something difficult and need someone to talk to about it. <h2 class="wp-block-heading">Do you want to stop procrastinating?</h2>



<p>Whether you&#8217;re a student, work a full-time job, or have any circumstances, chances are that you&#8217;ve procrastinated something at some point. And it can be frustrating. But don&#8217;t worry! You don&#8217;t have to be a victim of procrastination anymore. Here are my 8 favorite ways to overcome procrastination. Try this first step!</p>



<h3 class="wp-block-heading">Use a planner.</h3>



<p>Procrastination is often the result of not having a plan for your day. So if you are distracted by seemingly more important things, it might be because you have no idea what to do with all that time. A <a href="https://yourlovelyself.com/shop/">digital or planner template</a> can help you set your priorities by working on essential tasks first for the day, which will result in excellent time management.</p>



<p>But the solution is simple and effective—make a plan for your day and follow through.<br>So, how do you make a good plan? First, write down your daily tasks—even if they&#8217;re as simple as &#8220;wake up&#8221; or &#8220;eat breakfast.&#8221; Once you&#8217;ve started doing this regularly, you&#8217;ll be able to look back at past days and see what worked well and what didn&#8217;t; that way, when you start planning your next day, you&#8217;ll be able to incorporate those lessons into your plans.</p>



<p>Then once you&#8217;ve got some experience, try making more extensive plans for yourself—for example: maybe tomorrow I&#8217;ll finish writing my article about overcoming procrastination!</p>



<h3 class="wp-block-heading">Stop waiting for inspiration.</h3>



<p>Waiting for inspiration is a surefire way to procrastinate. You might think, &#8220;I don&#8217;t know what to write about,&#8221; or &#8220;I&#8217;m not in the mood.&#8221; But most of the time, these feelings aren&#8217;t true; you need to get moving so your brain can start working independently.</p>



<p>It&#8217;s easy to blame yourself when something doesn&#8217;t go well. If you&#8217;re making excuses or waiting around looking for inspiration, you&#8217;re missing out on all the things that could be going right instead!</p>



<p>If you are stuck and unable to start writing, don&#8217;t jump on social media; instead, try setting the alarm every hour until noon. Setting the alarm will allow your mind to accept responsibility for progress over perfectionism—and it&#8217;ll help keep those fingers moving!</p>



<h3 class="wp-block-heading">Focus on the most challenging task first.</h3>



<p>One of the best ways to overcome procrastination is to get an accountability partner. Your partner can be a spouse or friend. You want to choose someone who is going through the same thing as you and has similar goals. Having someone who understands what it feels like when a task seems overwhelming and can help support you in getting started on it will make all the difference in how much progress you make.</p>



<h3 class="wp-block-heading">To find such a person:</h3>



<p>Find someone whose personality type matches yours (for example, introvert/extrovert). The last thing anyone needs is for the new accountability partner to constantly encourage them to go out when they want to stay home!</p>



<p>Look for someone with similar goals or aspirations as your own. For example, suppose both people aren’t working toward something big together (like starting a business). In that case, there won’t be much motivation for either party involved—and they may even feel they should slack off more than usual because there isn’t enough urgency behind their actions!</p>



<h3 class="wp-block-heading">Get an accountability partner.</h3>

<li>Seeing their progress and hearing their success stories first-hand</li>



<li>Encouraging them when they’re down or tempted by procrastination</li>



<li>Giving feedback on how they can improve the way they work towards their goals</li>



<li>The right person will know when it’s time for them to push harder and when it’s time for them to take a break from working towards their goal—all while providing moral support at crucial moments in the process.</li>
</ul>



<h3 class="wp-block-heading">Give yourself one reward every day.</h3>



<p>Reward yourself daily, but don&#8217;t use food as a reward.</p>



<p>It&#8217;s easy to see why we might want to reward ourselves with food after completing a task or making progress on something important. Food is an easy way to give yourself an instant boost of energy and confidence! But if you&#8217;re already struggling with weight, this can be a slippery slope toward overeating and binge eating.</p>



<p>Not only that—it&#8217;s also not good for your health in the long run (yes, even though delicious). So instead of rewarding yourself with unhealthy treats every time you get something done, treat yourself to something else: maybe it&#8217;s spending time with friends or watching your favorite Netflix show (or both!).</p>



<p>Another option is shopping! I&#8217;ll admit that I&#8217;m guilty of rewarding myself by shopping online—especially when I need new clothes because my current wardrobe has become too small or outdated since starting college last year.</p>



<h3 class="wp-block-heading">Set a block of time for each task.</h3>



<p>Setting time for each task is the simplest way to overcome procrastination. Of course, you can set a larger block of time for something that takes longer, like cooking dinner or even doing laundry. But if it&#8217;s a minor task that doesn&#8217;t take much time, it&#8217;s best to set aside just 15 minutes to tackle one task at a time.</p>



<p>Scheduling time will help you manage your energy and motivation levels better throughout the day&#8211;and make sure they don&#8217;t dip too low when it comes time to sit down and do some work!</p>



<p>Don&#8217;t worry about how much work you get done by putting off all the other tasks until later. Sometimes, having an idea brewing in your mind while doing something else helps it come together more clearly when you finally go back later in another session that day or week!</p>



<h3 class="wp-block-heading">Break down big projects into smaller tasks.</h3>



<p>Try breaking down big projects into smaller tasks.</p>



<p>For example, if you have a big project due in a few weeks, it might help to break it down into several stages:<br>Break the project into phases (i.e., if you&#8217;re writing an essay, break down each section into its step). Once all of your sections are broken down, set deadlines for each step and stick to them—but don&#8217;t set so many deadlines that they become unrealistic!</p>



<h3 class="wp-block-heading">Take time for yourself to avoid burnout.</h3>



<p>&#8220;Take a break, get some fresh air, and do something you enjoy. This will help you combat procrastination.</p>



<p>Taking time for yourself—even if it&#8217;s just going for a walk. It can give your brain space to think about other things besides work. It also benefits both your physical and mental health.</p>



<p>Get moving! Physical activity boosts serotonin levels in the brain and makes us happier. Exercise also releases endorphins into our bloodstream, making us feel good throughout the day. These benefits can make it easier to stay on task when trying to avoid procrastination later.</p>



<p>Procrastinating can be addressed by taking small steps and being kind to yourself. Life can wait a few minutes while you practice a little self-care.</p>



<p>Procrastination is a problem that can be addressed in multiple ways. However, one of the most important things to remember when addressing procrastination is to be kind and compassionate toward yourself.</p>



<h6 class="wp-block-heading">Everyone procrastinates, even successful people with many accomplishments under their belts; this doesn’t mean they’re lazy or stupid.</h6>



<p>It means they have their challenges, like you and me. And it’s up to us as individuals to figure out what works best for us. Rather than following someone else&#8217;s advice blindly (even if that person happens to be me).</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Don’t be hard on yourself.</h2>



<p>If you find yourself, the solution is not to beat yourself up. Avoiding procrastination is hard work. So, take small steps and try to be kind to yourself. You might find yourself more likely to fall into its trap again. If you keep trying new things and working on yourself, you will beat procrastination! <h2 class="wp-block-heading">How can you improve your mental wellness?</h2>



<p>Caring for your body is usually the first thing that comes to mind when considering well-being. However, other areas can be just as important. Today I want to mention some strategies college students use to improve their mental health and emotional wellness during the often stressful time of early adulthood. Here are just a few mental health activities.</p>



<h3 class="wp-block-heading">Have a guilt-free bathroom break.</h3>



<p>A bathroom is a magical place. It&#8217;s the one place on campus where you can&#8217;t be bothered by your roommate or your professor. You can also avoid these people for 10 minutes, and that space is crucial for mental health.</p>



<p>So skip class if you need more than five minutes alone (or ask a friend to cover). And don&#8217;t feel guilty about taking the occasional bathroom break; you&#8217;ll get more work done when you&#8217;re less stressed!</p>



<h3 class="wp-block-heading">Find a space to be alone.</h3>



<p>College is an insane time; sometimes, finding space for yourself in the madness is hard. You may find your mind constantly racing with thoughts about grades, friendships, and other people’s expectations.</p>



<p>So the solution is simple: Find a place where you can relax and be yourself without being judged by anyone other than yourself.&nbsp;</p>



<p>If you don&#8217;t have friends who understand your need, reach out to peers who have gone through similar experiences as you—they may not be able to empathize fully. Still, they&#8217;ll certainly understand what it&#8217;s like to keep up with everyone else&#8217;s demands on your time and energy.</p>



<h3 class="wp-block-heading">Sometimes, the library isn&#8217;t the best place to study.</h3>



<p>The library can be a fantastic place to study, but it’s not always the best. For example, the library can be loud and busy, making it difficult for students to concentrate. Students also can&#8217;t concentrate in a dark, isolated environment with no stimuli around them.&nbsp;</p>



<p>It&#8217;s also essential for students to see what they&#8217;re reading or writing so they don&#8217;t miss any critical information, so good lighting is essential.&nbsp;</p>



<p>Finally, many distractions in the library include people talking or texting loudly on their phones while you&#8217;re trying to focus. So, have an alternate place you can study just in case.</p>



<h3 class="wp-block-heading">Make time for friends.</h3>



<p>It can be hard to make time for friends when you&#8217;re busy with school, work, and extracurricular activities. However, taking time out of your week to spend an hour or two with people you care about is essential.</p>



<p>&nbsp;You don&#8217;t have to do much—sitting down and talking over coffee is good enough. If you don&#8217;t see your friends often enough, they might feel like second-class citizens in your life and stop being as supportive as they could be. Plus, it&#8217;s a great way to recharge!</p>



<h3 class="wp-block-heading">Take time to appreciate your surroundings.</h3>

<p>It can be easy to forget that it’s important to remind ourselves of the little victories in life. For example, when you are studying hard and putting in hours upon hours at the library, it is easy to forget why you’re doing this work in the first place.</p>



<p>&nbsp;Maybe you have a test coming up, or maybe you need some motivation to keep going. Either way, here are some rewards for when you achieve something:</p>



<ul>
<li>Treat yourself to an ice cream cone (or whatever else makes sense).<br></li>



<li>Watch a show on Netflix that isn&#8217;t homework-related (or get recommendations from friends!).<br></li>



<li>Spend time with friends and family who support your work ethic—or new people they introduced into their lives!<br></li>

<p>For example, if you&#8217;re feeling overwhelmed, saying things like &#8220;I am strong&#8221; or &#8220;I can handle this might be helpful.&#8221;</p>



<p>&nbsp;Positive self-talk helps people feel more confident and in control during challenging times by providing reminders about their strengths and abilities, which can help boost their mood and improve overall well-being.</p>



<h3 class="wp-block-heading">Exercise, even if only for a few minutes at first.</h3>



<p>Exercise is a great way to relieve stress, and it&#8217;s easy to do at almost any age. If you&#8217;re new to exercise, start with something simple like taking a walk around the block or doing some stretches. It&#8217;s okay if you don&#8217;t want to be super active—the important thing is that you&#8217;re exercising more than you did before!</p>



<p>If it helps, set up a routine for yourself.&nbsp;</p>



<p>For example: &#8220;I&#8217;m going for an hour-long walk every morning when I get up.&#8221; If this isn&#8217;t feasible due to scheduling conflicts or other factors, try making exercise part of your daily routine by doing something simple such as walking upstairs instead of using the elevator whenever possible.</p>

<p> These home-organizing ideas hopefully will save you precious time and money and help you stay organized! I don&#8217;t know about you, but after a long day, the last thing I want to do is come home to an unorganized mess. </p>



<p><strong>A clean, organized home cuts down on your cleaning time. If everything is kept in its place, you will have to do minor straightening at the end of the day. Gone will be the days of spending all day Saturday cleaning.&nbsp;</strong></p>



<h6 class="wp-block-heading">Tip: Stick to a cleaning schedule and clean a little a day. Then cleaning your whole home won&#8217;t be so overwhelming.&nbsp;</h6>



<p>An organized home is good for our mental health. However, the more clutter we have, the harder it will be to find something we lose, like our keys. I don&#8217;t know how often this has happened to me.&nbsp;</p>



<p>If you love having people over,  has it ever happened to you that someone stops over out of the blue, and your house is a mess? <p>I have always struggled with organizing my kitchen. This is because we have moved so much, and every apartment we have lived in has different sizes of cabinets and kitchen layouts. But you can do a few things to keep your kitchen organized, no matter the size.</p>



<p>Using vertical space in the kitchen is the best way to keep everything in its place when you have a small space. For instance, I rarely have room to hang a towel bar or the area for items such as olive oil, zip lock bags, seasonings, etc., to be easily accessible.&nbsp;&nbsp;</p>



<p>So I used this Magnetic Spice Rack Organizer that sticks to the refrigerator. It&#8217;s a perfect use of space. I can easily grab all of my go-to items quickly.</p>



<p>Stackable sliding drawers work well for storage solutions under the kitchen sink. Fill the storage bins with cleaning supplies and extra kitchen towels. These stackable bins can also be used for storage in your cabinets to store canned goods or other condiments.</p>



<p>When organizing my dry goods, I love to use mason jars. I have a farmhouse-themed home, and the mason jars add a nice touch to my kitchen. In addition, they are practical and multipurpose. </p>



<p>To organize a junk drawer, take everything out and plan what kinds of things you want to put in the drawer. Then, use drawer organizers to keep everything neatly in place.</p>

<p>Have you ever opened your medicine cabinets, hoping nothing would fall out? I&#8217;m guilty of this! So here are a few bathroom organization ideas.</p>



<p>If you have a small bathroom, you may have storage space you haven&#8217;t even thought of using. Try placing a narrow shelving unit, and add your extra hand towels and toiletries. If you still need more storage, use an over-the-door storage shelf. </p>



<p> I love wicker baskets to hide my cosmetics. Clear plastic bins look nice if you are not concerned about hiding your toiletries. But you have to keep them organized! Or else it will make your bathroom look messy. </p>



<p>The storage bins come in all shapes and sizes to store cotton balls or make-up brushes. You can use them inside the medicine cabinet or under the bathroom sink. </p>



<p>If I asked you how many hair styling tools do you have? What would you say? I have at least 3. A blow dryer, flat iron, and a hair curler. Need a solution for your hair tools? </p>



<p>To store your tools on your bathroom counter, use a tool organizer. Then, your styling tools will be right there when you need them.</p>

<p>It is easy to ignore our messy closets. But if you want to tackle organizing your closet, here are some things you might need.</p>



<ol>
<li>Figure out a&nbsp; plan. If you have a lot of clothes or shoes, you may want to go through your clothing and donate clothes you have not worn in the last six months. If you are like me, you&#8217;re holding on to that dress you promised you would get back into five years ago. If it still doesn&#8217;t fit, let it go.</li>
</ol>



<h6 class="wp-block-heading">FYI: I did get rid of a lot of clothing that was too small, and then I did lose weight and wished I had kept some of those clothes. So choose wisely.</h6>

<p>After doing a little research, I want to share with you 4 of my favorite car-organizing hacks.</p>



<ol>
<li>I hate cleaning out sticky, messy cup holders. To prevent the mess, use cupcake liners. Brilliant! Just through them out when they are soiled. </li>



<li>Keep a laundry basket in the car. I love this idea! At the end of the week, throw all the junk left in your vehicle in the basket and remove it from the car.&nbsp;</li>



<li>Use shoe organizers to organize tools, garden supplies, or the kid&#8217;s toys for more storage in the trunk. Genius!</li>



<li>Organize your glove box with a small accordion file. Keep important documents like insurance, registration, car repair receipts, etc.&nbsp;</li>



<li>Use a make-up organizer to keep your center console organized.</li>
</ol>

<p>Whether you have a small bedroom or not. Keeping the room clean can be one of the hardest things to do. It&#8217;s so easy to forget about it because when we are in our room, we are either rushing in the morning or too tired to clean or organize anything when we are ready to head to bed.&nbsp;</p>



<p>Here are some practical bedroom organization ideas. I hate to hang up my clothes. Use an over-the-door hook to hang your clothes on when you are in a hurry or tired.&nbsp;</p>



<p>Utilize space under the bed by placing storage bins that can hold your off-season clothes. Storage furniture will also help keep the clutter away, saving space. If it&#8217;s time to purchase a new bed, think about a bed frame with built-in storage.</p>



<p> Organize your extra blankets and throws them on a blanket ladder. These little tips should help your bedroom become a calm, organized space.</p>



<p>With a few home storage solutions, you will keep your bedroom nice and tidy if everything has a place!</p>
